Journey To The Heart - A Desert Escape
Leo Cosendai announces an intimate Saharan Sound Retreat this November.
“I think untainted nature provides us with a canvas that can birth potent transformations, and though I believe we go through many transformations in our life, I do think that some of them stand out; And the one I went through in the desert did just that. Of course, the essence of what I felt in the Sahara cannot be described by words. The way it whirled and swirled all that is bigger than myself remains within my core and the desert itself.” Leo Cosendai
After being postponed for the past two years, the very first Journey To The Heart will be taking place in the Sahara desert this November. “This trip will be an immersion for the self,” explains Leo “it promises to get you unplugged from modern society and challenge the status quo that influences your life.”
Starting on the 18th of November in Marrakech, guests will then be taken to their desert home (the camp is located just behind the Atlas Mountains) the next day for the following 6 days, before heading for the earthy and ethereal Casbah in Aït Benhaddou on the 26th of November for the last night. This ighrem, along the former caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech, is also a UNESCO heritage site since 1987.
During this desert stay, Leo Cosendai, artist, sound healer and author, will lead an intentionally small group of 25 guests through the sonic and yogic practices that have changed his life and opened up his horizons:
Gong Baths “They make meditation accessible — ‘psychedelics meet deep tissue massage but legal and hands off.’
Breathwork & chanting “We lost our voice as individuals and it’s time to claim it back.”
Kundalini Yoga “The future of yoga — no pretzel gymnastics here, it makes your nervous system strong and makes your gland produce the perfect mix of chemicals so you can make the most of your mind and body.”
Guests are invited to do as much or as little as they like and encouraged to experience the power of sound in nature, conscious yoga, breath work, chanting, or just to read that book they have always meant to on top of a dune.
“Our home for the week is a space that we like to call in-finite. No walls, no ceilings and no limits. The desert is yours and you are its.” Expect design-eco-conscious, spacious & luxury tents with comfy beds, own bathrooms and white cotton linen for those desert nights, with stargazing, traditional Berber music and open campfires each evening.
“You will open your inner eye — the seat of the intuition, and learn to navigate life with a soft but confident grip on the cosmic wheel.”
The Otherness Community receives 10% off the retreat prices if booked by the 5th of September.
