Moonscope: Full Moon In Aries

What does this Full Moon in Aries signify for us all?

This full moon in Aries asks us to review the role we've played as individuals throughout the first half of the zodiac year. Where did we place that firestarter energy, our driving force and the Yang to our Yin? The first sign in the zodiac, this Aries cycle calls us to look at the awards achieved by our inner winner. Has it been worth it? What can you let go to release the resistance that holds you back from being in pole position?

Opposing significant Libran energy, this moon is illuminated by the Sun, which is joined by Aries' ruler, Mars; the culmination of this cycle is fittingly fiery and fast paced. Fresh off the back of this month's retrograde, Mercury starts to tip-toe out of it's tailspin. Be mindful that your words will hold extra power during this time, so make sure you have all the facts first. Communication should be clearer by the start of November, when Mercury will be out of the retrograde shadow, sharing an expansive trine with Jupiter, and setting the scene for the transformative new moon in Scorpio on the fourth.

At the time of this full moon, we also see our Luminaries (the sun & moon) join warrior Mars to form a square to Lord of the Underworld, Pluto, who's been deconstructing outdated Capricorn structures since November 2008. Pluto gets a bad rep, but change never came easy. This is one to watch over the coming months, and years. On the plus side, Neptune, planet of dreamers and imagination, has been having an extended beach day in the mystic waters of Pisces and forms a sweet sextile to Pluto. The question here is: "when the structures of my old foundations have crumbled and I'm asked to start again, in my wildest dreams, what do I envision replacing them with?".

The blue sky thinking continues with Mars in Libra's trine to Jupiter in Aquarius, calling us to act constructively when it comes to our collective impact. How do we galvanise our partnerships to expand the possibilities of a more humanitarian and collaborative future? These are big questions to ask at any point in time, and this illuminating full moon gives us an opportunity to create space to do such reflection before we retreat and descend into the darkest part of the year.

Which brings me on to Scorpio season. This Aries full moon lands on the Cusp of Drama, the liminal space between indulgent, justice oriented Libra, and intense, power hungry Scorpio. If there was ever a time to go dark, recalibrate and decide which battles are worth picking, now is the time. The demand for a kinder, fairer and more respectful way of life was never assigned to any one generation; it's a just request that weaves its way through lineage upon lineage and evidence of its continuation is evidence of the ways in which it has not yet been answered...

So with just over a week until the celebration of the Celtic festival, Samhain (and more broadly, Halloween), this turning of the year reminds us of the alchemical power of death and rebirth, the importance of honouring the unseen forces who guide us on a daily basis, and the legacy of those who walked so we could run. The last message on this full moon relates to actions of this cycle which you'll assign to the past, the ways in which you plan to stay in your centre, the self empowerment of standing your ground, and which seeds you'll sow to bloom under the Spring glow of 2022.
