This three-part course is an exploration into shamanism and how it is applicable to the modern world.

Shamanism, often called the proto-religion, is considered the original spark from which all spirituality stems, and is a practice that is becoming more and more popular in the modern age. But what is shamanism, how exactly can it help us today, and who does it apply to?

This course is for anybody who is interested in these questions, from those with years of experience to those who have never heard the word “shaman” before. It will run from 7-9:30pm each week, and the sessions will be split between open lectures and a ceremony each week.

YOUR FACILITATOR: Eddy Elsey

Eddy Elsey was born in London and grew up suffering from acute and debilitating anxiety. When traditional psychotherapy didn’t work – he, like many others, began to look for a different route to healing, which led to various spiritual practices.

After a rigorous multi-year initiation into shamanic techniques with a teacher from this land, Eddy created Street Spirituality with the aim of removing the taboo from authentic shamanic practice. There is no reason why this form of ancient healing cannot help everyone, no matter their background, in their journey back to themselves – back to their heart.

As well as a 1-2-1 healing practice, Eddy runs events and workshops at the leading studios in London and has since been featured in GQ, Men’s Health, The Metro and The Telegraph for this work, as well as becoming the resident Shamanic Practitioner at The Mandrake Hotel in London.

Eddy Elsey (He/Him)

Eddy is a Shamanic Practitioner from London and founder of Street Spirituality.

Through his understanding and deep knowledge of Shamanic practices and how they can be integrated into the modern world, he believes that it is a merging of the Ancient and the new that will now help society push forward into greater awareness of the self.

Also trained in Yoga, Tantra and Reiki - Eddy brings the elements of calm and love from these practices into the more tribal tradition of Shamanism.

Through the use of Shamanic practice, we can form direct relationships with our own spiritual allies and aspects of ourselves that can guide us to a higher consciousness. It is through the tried and tested, millennia old, use of Shamanic tradition that we can begin to heal that which we have been told we cannot.

Eddy also runs Men’s Groups throughout London, focussing on remembering the beautiful and potent traits of Masculinity through ritual, conversation and community.
